Citrónovník pravý (iné názvy: citrónovník [resp. zastarano: citron(n)ík], citrón; staršie: citrónovník limonový [alebo limónový], citrónovník kyslý, citrónovník médsky limónový; zriedkavo: limón; lat. Citrus limon; staršie: Citrus limonia, Citrus limonum, Citrus medica var. limon) je druh z rodu citrónovník z čeľade rutovité. Jeho presný rozsah je sporný (napríklad často zahŕňa aj sladké limetky) - porov. systematiku v článku citrónovník (rod).

Je to malý subtropický vždyzelený strom. Jeho plod sa nazýva citrón (alebo zriedkavo limón), obyčajne je žltý.

Citrónovník pravý má jednoduché vajcovité listy (dlhé 8 až 14 cm), ktoré obsahujú aromatické oleje. Kvitne od apríla do mája.[1] Malé, obojpohlavné biele kvety sú vo zväzkoch a sú veľmi voňavé. Plod je bobuľa s kožovitou šupkou (hesperídium).[2] Dorastá do výšky 3 až 6 m a má ostré tŕne[3].

Pôvodom je pravdepodobne zo severozápadnej Indie[4], rastie v Stredomorí, Juhozápadnej Ázii a na juhu Severnej Ameriky. Ide o kríženca medzi druhmi Citrus aurantium a Citrus medica.[5][6] Bol introdukovaný do Talianska v 2. storočí pred Kr. a v Iraku a Egypte sa pestoval v 7. storočí pred Kr.[7]
