ZTE Corporation, also known as ZTE (Chinese: 中兴通讯) (Zhong Xing Telecommunication Equipment Company Limited) is a publicly owned, Chinese business that designs and builds telecommunications equipment and systems.[8]
The company is located in Shenzhen, and was started in 1985[8] ZTE offers a many telecommunications products that provide services, such as video on demand and streaming media to its customers,[9] which are mainly people that provide telecommunications services.[9]
In 1997, the company was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and since December 2004 has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It is included in the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index.
ZTE has 13 of its own R&D centers in China, USA, Sweden and Korea.
More than 10% of ZTE's annual income goes to R&D. The company has partnerships with large international companies such as: Intel, Microsoft, IBM, Alcatel, Qualcomm, Analog Devices, Accenture, Texas Instruments, Freescale, Agere Systems and ADI.
