Panama is divided into ten provinces (Spanish : provincias ). There are three provincial-level indigenous regions (Spanish : comarcas indígenas , often shortened to comarcas ). [ N 1]
There are also two indigenous comarcas within provinces that are considered equivalent to a corregimiento (municipality ).
