Perfluoro acid
Perfluoro acids or perfluoroalkyl acids are perfluorinated versions of organic acids. Perfluoro acids have historically been used in many industries, but they have become less popular because of links to cancer and environmental concerns about non-degradable "forever chemicals".
These acids are usually stronger than the non-fluorinated acids. This makes their conjugate bases very weak, which is how they are normally used.
Perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids
Perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids, abbreviated PFCAs, are perfluoro derivatives of carboxylic acids. Perfluorooctanoic acid is a famous PFCA.
Perfluoroalkyl sulfonic acids
Perfluoroalkyl sulfonic acids, abbreviated PFSAs, are perfluoro derivatives of sulfonic acids. Triflic acid, one of the strongest known acids, is a PFSA.
