Miha Matjašec (* 22 February 2009) is a Slovenian football player. He plays as midfielder for the Austrian 2. league club FC Liefering.
Career
Matjašec began his career at ND Beltinci. 2022 he moved to NŠ Mura. 2024 he joined the youth academy of NK Domžale. In March 2025 he made his professional debut for Domžale against NK Olimpija Ljubljana in the Slovenian First League (1. SNL). This appearance made the midfielder the first player born in 2009 to play in the Slovenian top league.
2025 Matjašec transferred to Austrian Bundesliga club FC Red Bull Salzburg. He was initially assigned to play for team, FC Liefering, in the second division. [1] For Liefering he debuted on 8 May 2026 when he came in in minute 69 for Nikolas Freund in the leaguematch versus Admira Wacker. In minute 91 he also scored his first goal for the team. [2]
International
Matjašec skipped a year in the Slovenian national team and made his debut for the U-15 team at the age of 13. In September 2024, at the age of 15, he made his debut for the U-17 national team.
