Logan Stanley (born May 26, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He currently plays for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the Winnipeg Jets.

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Stanley played three seasons with the Windsor Spitfires and one season with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

He was drafted 18th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2016 NHL entry draft.[1] On December 6, 2016, Stanley signed a three-year, $3.4 million entry-level contract to join the Jets.[2] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Manitoba Moose.

On January 18, 2021, the Jets called him up and Stanley made his NHL debut in a 3–1 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs.[3] On March 13, Stanley recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Paul Stastny goal in a 5–2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.[4] On May 5, Stanley scored his first NHL goal against David Rittich in a 4–2 loss against the Calgary Flames.[5] On August 4, Stanley signed a two-year, $1.8 million contract to stay with the Jets.[6] On August 19, 2023, Stanley signed a one-year, $1 million contract to stay with the Jets.[7] On July 6, 2024, Stanley signed a two-year, $2.5 million contract to stay with the Jets.[8]

On March 5, 2026, the Jets traded Stanley along with Luke Schenn to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Jacob Bryson, Isak Rosén, a 2026 conditional fourth-round draft pick and a 2027 second-round draft pick.[9]

Personal life

Stanley's older cousin Michael Latta was also a professional hockey player who played three seasons in the NHL for the Washington Capitals.[10]
