Jonathas Cristian de Jesus[1] (born 6 March 1989), simply known as Jonathas, is a Brazilian footballer. He plays for Spanish club Elche CF as a forward.
In his career, he played top-flight football in his own country, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Russia and Germany. He recorded figures of 61 games and 21 goals in La Liga for Elche and Real Sociedad, and three goals in 29 Serie A matches for Brescia, Pescara and Torino.
On 31 January 2020, Jonathas returned to his former club Elche, now in Segunda División.[2] Weeks later, he tested positive for COVID-19 on 15 March, during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.[3]
