Barbara-Rose Collins (April 13, 1939 – November 4, 2021) was an American Democratic politician. She was the first black woman from Michigan to be elected to Congress.[1] She was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1991 until 1997. Collins was born in Detroit, Michigan.
Collins died on November 4, 2021 at a Detroit hospital from problems caused by COVID-19, aged 82.[2]
