Alex Turcotte (born February 26, 2001) is an American professional ice hockey center. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Turcotte played two seasons with the U.S. National Development Team of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and one year with Denver Pioneers of National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC).

He was drafted 5th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2019 NHL entry draft.[1] On March 11, 2020, Turcotte signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Kings.[2] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Ontario Reign.

On December 28, 2021, the Kings called him up and Turcotte made his NHL debut in a 6–3 loss against the Vegas Golden Knights.[3] On January 31, 2024, he scored his first NHL goal against Juuse Saros and also recorded an assist from of a Trevor Lewis goal in a 4–2 win against the Nashville Predators.[4] On January 13, 2019, Turcotte signed a two-year, $1.55 million contract to stay with the Kings.[5] On June 22, 2024, Turcotte signed a three-year contract to stay with the Kings.[6]

Personal life

Turcotte's father Alfie Turcotte was also a professional hockey player and played seven seasons in the NHL.[7]
