Juuse Saros (born 19 April 1995) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender. He currently plays for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Outside of the NHL, Saros has played for HPK of the Liiga.

Saros is a two-time All-Star, being named one in 2022 and 2023. Internationally, Saros plays for Finland and won a bronze medal with them in 2026.

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Saros played parts of two seasons with HPK of the Liiga. He had a successful time with his teams. He finished his rookie season with a record of 17—16—9, posting a 1.76 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. He won the Jarmo Wasama Memorial Trophy for Rookie of the Year.[1]

He was drafted 99th overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2013 NHL entry draft. On June 16, 2015, Saros signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Predators.[2] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Milwaukee Admirals.

On November 28, 2015, the Predators called him up and Saros made his NHL debut, stopping 20 of 23 shots he faced in a 4–1 loss against the Buffalo Sabres.[3] On October 22, 2016, Saros earned his first NHL win, stopping 34 of 35 shots he faced in a 5–1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.[4] On December 30, Saros stopped all 25 shots he faced to earn his first NHL shutout in a 4–0 win against the St. Louis Blues.[5] On 16 July 2018, Saros signed a three-year, $4.5 million contract to stay with the Predators.[6] On 20 October, the Predators named Saros as their full-time starting goaltender after Pekka Rinne was forced out with an injury.[7] He later went back to a backup role after Rinne returned from injury but also split time with Rinne as starter.

On 13 July 2021, Rinne announced that he was retiring from playing professional ice hockey. After his retirement, Saros took over as the main starting goaltender for the Predators.[8] On 16 August, Saros signed a four-year, $20 million contract to join the Predators.[9] On 21 June 2022, Saros was named to his first All-Star game.[10] On 1 July 2024, Saros signed a eight-year, $61.92 million contract to stay with the Predators.[11]
