Vilhelmshafen (nem. Wilhelmshaven) je grad u njemačkoj saveznoj državi Donja Saksonija.

Istorija

Na području gde je kasnije osnovan grad bila je piratska baza, koju je Hanza uništila 1433. godine. Kralj Prusije (a kasnije i Njemačke) Vilhelm I Nemački osnovao je Vilhelshafen 1869. kao pomorsku bazu za prusku flotu. U gradu je osnovano brodogradilište i velika luka za prusku, a kasnije i za njemačku ratnu flotu.

Položaj grada u okrugu

Grad se nalazi na nadmorskoj visini od 2 metara. Površina opštine iznosi 106,9 km². U samom gradu je, prema procjeni iz 2010. godine, živjelo 81.411 stanovnika. Prosječna gustina stanovništva iznosi 761 stanovnika/km². Posjeduje regionalnu šifru (AGS) 3405000.
