Crkva Ante Padovanskog u Banja Luci

Crkva Ante Padovanskog u Banja Luci je rimokatolička župna i samostanska crkva na Petrićevcu, na sjevernom izlazu iz Banja Luke, Bosna i Hercegovina. Pripada Banjalučkoj biskupiji. Posebna zanimljivost ove crkve je činjenica da je četiri puta podizana i tri puta rušena.[1]

Historija

Prva crkva sagrađena je 1884. god. Radove je vodio fra Vid Miljanović, predsjednik rezidencije. Predhodno je od 1873. do 1876. god. podignuta samostanska zgrada.

Godine 1930.-1931, u vrijeme Kraljevine Jugoslavije, podignuta je nova crkva s dva zvonika, prema projektu arhitekte Blaža-Misite Katušića na bazi eklektizma i istoricizma. Crkvu su oslikali slikari udruţenja 'Ars sacra', iz Praga, pod vodstvom Franje Martinya. Na crkvene zvonike su postavljena najprije dva zvona, jedno od 124 kg., iz prethodne crkve, i drugo nabavljeno tada od 500 kg., a kasnije su dodana još dva, jedno od 160 kg. i drugo od 700 kg. Nabavljene su za crkvu i orgulje od graditelja Brandta iz Maribora. Nekadašnja rezidencija, a tako i samostan i crkva bili su posvećeni Presvetom Trojstvu. Nova crkva je, međutim, dobila drugog patrona, i posvećena je sv. Antunu Padovanskom, a Presveto Trojstvo je do danas ostao titul samostana.

U zemljotresu 27. oktobra 1969. samostan je teško oštećen, osim podruma, a crkva potpuno razorena. Fratri su u prvo vrijeme boravili u autoprikolicama i u samostanskom podrumu, a potom više od 5 godina u novopodignutom montažnom objektu, dok su mise s narodom slavljene pod velikim šatorom. Godine 1973.-1974, u vrijeme gvardijana fra Franje Josipovića, najprije je, prema projektu Janeza Firsta, iz Ljubljane, izgrađena nova crkva (34,65×22,60 m), s prostranom kriptom, dvije vjeronaučne dvorane i drugim korisnim prostorom ispod nje. Godine 1984., odvojeno od crkve, podignut je zvonik. Novi samostan izgrađen je 1976. god.

Godine 1995. samostan i crkvu eksplozivom su srušili i zapalili uniformirana lica Republike Srpske.[1] Papa Ivan Pavao II posjetio je Banja Luku 2003. god. i osvještao temelje za novu, četvrtu crkvu. Radovi su završeni 22. oktobra 2018. god, a posvetu je obavio banjalučki biskup Franjo Komarica.

Opis

Četvrta crkva na Petrićevcu je urađena prema projektu Ivana Štrausa. To je njegov posljednji projekat i jedini na teritoriji Banja Luke, grada u kojem je odrastao. Riječ je o projektu totalnog dizajna, za koji Štraus nije izveo samo crkvu, nego i sve detalje, unutrašnjost, namještaj i opremu. Projekat je dobro osmišljen u kontekstu ranijih crkvi, istorijskih događaja na Petričevcu te liturgijskim pitanjima uopšte. To se najbolje vidi po dvije važne osobine projekta koje imaju pozadinu u projektu Misite-Katušića: istočno postavljena dva zvonika, koji se snažno izdižu iznad okolnog pejsaža i most na dva para arkada na nivou prizemlja koji povezuje samostan i crkvu. Ivan Štraus je u projektu koristio jake geometrijske oblike za stvaranje jedinstvenog sakralnog prostora unutar jedne zgrade.

Konstruktivni sistem i beton kao glavni materijal su dio glavnog koncepta i ideje stvaranja savremene crkve koja nudi isti doživljaj vani i unutra, zadovoljavajući liturgijske zahtjeve i autorove lične stavove.[2]
