Полу́шник, или Ши́лица[1] (лат. Isoetes) — род высших споровых растений семейства Полушниковые (Isoëtaceae).

В настоящее время насчитывается 192 признанных вида[2]. Некоторые ботаники разделяют род, выделяя два южноамериканских вида в род Stylites, хотя молекулярные данные помещают эти виды среди других видов Isoetes[3]. Виды Isoetes, практически идентичные современным формам, существовали с юрской эпохи[4].

Как и остальные представители класса Lycopodiopsida, Isoetes размножается спорами[5]. Среди ликофитов как Isoetes, так и Selaginellaceae (колосковые мхи) являются гетероспоровыми, а остальные ликофиты семейства Lycopodiaceae (клубневые мхи) — гомоспоровыми[6].

Распространение

Распространение спор происходит главным образом в воде (гидрохория), но может также происходить через прилипание к животным (зоохория) и в результате проглатывания (эндозоохория)[5][7]. Это одна из причин, объясняющих орнаментацию спор, причем некоторые авторы показывают, что определенные узоры хорошо приспособлены для прилипания к соответствующим животным, таким как водоплавающие птицы[7]. Другим важным элементом распространение является наблюдение, что у некоторых видов Isoetes внешняя оболочка мегаспор имеет карманы, которые задерживают микроспоры — состояние, известное как синаптоспория[7].
