  • 1443-начало 1444 — Новый крестовый поход против турок. Войска венгров, поляков (король Владислав), сербов (князь Бранкович) и валахов под командованием Яноша Хуньяди дважды разбивают войско Мурада II и занимают Софию и балканские перевалы. Заключение мира на 10 лет на выгодных для союзников условиях.
  • Начато строительство дворца в Берлине.
  • Восстание в Албании возглавил Скандербег (Георгий Кастриот (1405—1468)).
