Битва при Кадсане
  • 25 мая — французский король Филипп VI отобрал у английского короля Эдуарда III Гиень несмотря на сложенную Эдуардом вассальную присягу.
  • Английский король Эдуард III посылает вызов французскому королю Филиппу VI («Филиппу Валуа, который называет себя королём Франции»). Начало Столетней войны между Англией и Францией. Захват англичанами острова Кадсан.
  • 7 октября — Эдуард III денонсировал присягу и объявил свои права на французский трон.
  • Английский король Эдуард III запретил экспорт шерсти во Фландрию, что привело к восстанию ткачей во главе с Якобом ван Артевелде.
