Нубийский осёл[источник не указан 2912 дней] (лат. Equus africanus africanus) — подвид африканского дикого осла. Нубийские дикие ослы обитали в Нубийской пустыне на северо-востоке Судана, их ареал распространялся с востока от реки Нил до Красного моря. Нубийский осел имеет более длинные уши, чем у сомалийского дикого осла.

Исчезновение и потенциал выживания

Нубийский дикий осёл не был замечен с 1950-х годов, в конце 1970-х годов он считается вымершим. Последние особи обитали в долине Барка в Эритреи[1]. Исчезновение нубийского осла можно связать с охотой и конкуренцией с домашним скотом за ограниченные ресурсы пустыни.

В 2014-2015 годах был проведён анализ митохондриальной ДНК из популяции диких ослов на карибском острове Бонайре. В исследование были включены образцы ДНК животных Бонайре, музейные образцы Нубии диких ослов, ДНК четырёх сомалийских диких ослов и одного домашнего осла. Учёные обнаружили, что животные в Бонайре были очень близки к известным чистыми нубийским диким ослам и сильно отличаются от других ослов. В таком случае, тот факт, что только один осёл был использован в тесте свидетельствует о том, что полученные результаты являются довольно неубедительными. Для получения более убедительных результатов нужно проводить испытания с большой группой животных[2].
