Лейк является участником группы Maverick City Music и служит пастором поклонения в церкви Seacoast Church[англ.] в Чарльстоне, Южная Каролина[1].

Лауреат премий Грэмми, GMA Dove Awards, Billboard Music Awards и других. Лейк начал свою карьеру звукозаписывающего исполнителя с успешной краудфандинговой кампании по созданию альбома в 2015 году, которая привела к независимому выпуску его дебютного студийного альбома Closer в 2016 году.

Майкл Брэндон Лейк (Michael Brandon Lake) родился 21 июня 1990 года, вырос в Миртл-Бич, штат Южная Каролина, где его отец был пастором церкви[2]. В детстве Лейк увлёкся игрой на гитаре[3], что было подкреплено его отцом, который научил его играть несколько основных аккордовых прогрессий[2]. Лейк учился играть на гитаре с помощью YouTube[3], разучивая песни христианской рок-группы Third Day и музыканта в жанре современной христианской музыки Криса Томлина[2]. В подростковом возрасте Лейк сопровождал команду прославления в своей церкви, а позже был нанят церковью Seacoast Church[англ.] в качестве лидера прославления для служения в колледже[2].

Личная жизнь

Лейк и Бриттани Энн Шнайдер поженились 5 февраля 2011 года в Маунт Плезант, Южная Каролина[4]. У них трое сыновей: Блез, Бо и Баннер[5][6] .
