Nomeação pode referir-se a uma série de coisas, incluindo o seguinte:

  • Uma nomeação é um momento reservado para algo como uma visita médica, bem como uma reserva.
  • Uma nomeação, no governo, também se refere à atribuição de uma pessoa, um funcionário, para exercer um direito, como de juiz para um tribunal. Isto também pode acontecer para um cargo que normalmente é eleito, mas tem uma inesperada vaga. Uma pessoa nomeada que ainda não está em funções é chamada de designada.
  • O imperador Octávio César Augusto foi o primeiro imperador do império Romano, ele é decidia as leis,ele estava no poder do estado, ele é que decidia quem ia ser juiz, funcionário...
  • O poder de nomeação, em direito, é a capacidade que uma pessoa detém para deixar algo a outra, em testamento, como por exemplo, uma propriedade.
  • Uma nomeação do clero, no Cristianismo, é feita por um bispo a um determinado ministério, que fixa, em especial no que diz respeito formas de governo e política de uma igreja episcopal (como o Anglicanismo Unido e a Igreja Metodista). Normalmente, um pastor é nomeado para uma igreja paroquial.
  • Nomeação é usado para descrever um sistema de selecção de candidatos, em que a escolha é feita por um indivíduo ou grupo e não por uma sondagem à população em geral (eleições), ou através da selecção aleatória (colocação/sorteio), tal como é utilizada para seleccionar júris.
