Literatura Alternativa

O Literatura Alternativa foi um periódico literário brasileiro.

Foi fundado em 1998 por um grupo de escritores e pessoas ligadas à cultura, na cidade de Caratinga, no leste de Minas Gerais. Trata-se do Grupo Literário Poesia e Arte, que realizou eventos culturais como cafés, discussões literárias e concursos de poesia.

Embora houvesse certo tom polêmico nos textos, o grupo literário contava com o apoio de variados patrocinadores. Dentre os diversos membros que passaram pelo jornal, destacam-se os de Abiatar David, Cássio Cunha Soares, Mirela Mendes, Paulo César Teixeira [1965-2019], o Paulinho Paul, João Paulo Barbosa , Makmiller Pedroso, Delcio Rocha, Marcos Vinícius Teixeira, que mais tarde publicou o livro Os deuses comem pão, dentre outros. Em 2019, foi lançado em Caratinga o livro Eu(s), de autoria de Paulo César Teixeira e Mirela Mendes.

Cássio Cunha Soares publicou no Literatura Alternativa com o uso de heterônimos. No jornal número 03, por exemplo, aparece como Quetzalcoatl e, posteriormente, apareceria como Ptolomeu Carus, que acabou se tornando mais emblemático com a publicação do livro Metástase em 2010. Metástase é de fato o livro mais importante para o grupo que se reuniu em torno do jornal, o GLPA, pois consegue reunir os integrantes, registrar e contar um pouco de sua história mais de dez anos depois.

O jornal teve 19 números. Sua circulação era mensal. A diagramação era sempre inovadora: textos de cabeça para baixo, imagens inusitadas, etc. O jornal chegou a receber colaborações de Maxs Portes [1944-2014], Mírian Freitas, Fernando Campos, Juarez Gomes de Sá, dentre outros.
