Resumo

O piloto Jean-Pierre Jabouille foi inscrito pela Renault para esta corrida e assim houve a estreia de uma equipe com motor turbocomprimido em Silverstone. Dentre os pilotos a McLaren inscreveu o canadense Gilles Villeneuve.[3][5]
