Resultados do Grande Prêmio da Áustria de Fórmula 1 realizado em Österreichring em 17 de agosto de 1975. Décima segunda etapa da temporada, nele o italiano Vittorio Brambilla, da March-Ford, conquistou a única vitória de sua carreira.[3][4][5][6][nota 1]

Resumo

Mark Donohue (1937-1975)

Horas antes da corrida, o piloto Mark Donohue participava do treino de aquecimento (warm-up) quando o pneu de seu carro estourou na primeira curva do circuito a mais de 200 Km/h e assim a March pilotada pelo norte-americano atravessou três grades de proteção e atingiu violentamente o guard-rail antes de cair num barranco causando ferimentos fatais em Manfred Schaller e leves em Richard Huttner, dois comissários de pista.[7] Atendido por outros fiscais de pista auxiliados por Emerson Fittipaldi, Donohue estava inconsciente e seu capacete, amassado pelo impacto em um poste. Após uma aparemte melhora, passou a sofrer uma intensa dor de cabeça. Enviado a Graz, Mark Donohue foi submetido a uma operação de emergência, mas faleceu vítima de uma hemorragia cerebral.[8][9][10]

Durante os treinos livres de sexta-feira o brasileiro Wilson Fittipaldi quebrou dois metacarpos da mão esquerda quando sua Fittipaldi bateu na altura da curva Rindt por causa de uma falha na suspensão dianteira.[9]
