Earthset (Tradução: pôr da Terra) é uma fotografia em forma de crescente da Terra tirada pelo astronauta Reid Wiseman às 22:41 UTC de 6 de abril de 2026, durante o sobrevoo da Lua pela tripulação da Artemis II. É semelhante a Nascer da Terra, uma fotografia de 1968 de William Anders da Apollo 8 na qual a Terra parece surgir acima do horizonte lunar durante a órbita lunar.[1][2] Wiseman capturou a imagem usando uma câmera Nikon D5.[3]

Descrição

A imagem mostra a Terra se pondo atrás da superfície lunar craterizada, com o lado noturno do planeta na escuridão e sistemas de nuvens iluminados pelo sol visíveis sobre a região da Austrália e Oceania.[3] Em primeiro plano, é observado a Cratera Ohm, caracterizada por bordas escalonadas e um fundo relativamente plano interrompido por picos centrais, que se formam quando a superfície lunar, temporariamente liquefeita durante o impacto, se eleva durante a formação da cratera.[3]
