Cristãos caldeus (neo-aramaico: ܟ ܲ ܠ ܕ ܵ ܝ ܹ ̈ ܐ Keldayeh), são populações de etnia assíria adeptos da Igreja Católica Caldéia, a maioria se converteu ao catolicismo da Igreja do Oriente, nos séculos XVII e XVIII .[5] Além de sua terra natal, caldeu católicos migrantes possuem comunidades encontradas nos Estados Unidos, Suécia, Alemanha, França, Canadá e Austrália.[6]

Geograficamente, os caldeus são originários da Assíria central, nas planícies de Nínive, onde as ruínas das antigas capitais assíria de Nínive e Nimrud estão localizadas .[7]

Os Cristãos caldeus não devem ser confundidos com os cristãos de São Tomé da Índia (também chamada de Igreja Caldéia Síria), que por vezes são também conhecidos como "cristãos caldeus", mas são etnicamente Nasrani (falantes de malaiala).
