Systematyka

Takson Nesolestes wprowadził (jako podrodzaj rodzaju Podagrion[a]) w 1891 roku belgijski polityk i zoolog Edmond de Sélys Longchamps dla nowo opisanego przez siebie gatunku Nesolestes alboterminata[2][4]. Obecnie do rodzaju zaliczanych jest 16 gatunków[1].

Etymologia

Nesolestes: gr. νἡσος nēsos „wyspa”[9][10]; rodzaj Lestes (gr. ληστής lēstēs „rabuś, pirat”[9][11]).

  1. ↑ Podagrion Selys, 1862 to wyróżniany dawniej rodzaj ważek[6]. Nazwa ta okazała się jednak młodszym homonimem rodzaju błonkówek Podagrion wprowadzonego w 1811 roku przez Spinolę[7] i w 1885 roku została zastąpiona przez Megapodagrion[6][8].
