Louis Frédéric

Louis Frédéric Nussbaum (ur. 1923 w Paryżu, zm. 1996) – sławny francuski orientalista, specjalizujący się w kulturze Indii, Azji Południowo-Wschodniej i Japonii[1]. Jako autor książek podpisywał się Louis Frédéric.

Życiorys

Urodził się w 1923 roku w Paryżu. Karierę rozpoczął jako dziennikarz. Po studiach na Sorbonie oraz w Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, poświęcił się studiom nad cywilizacjami Azji. Mieszkał wiele lat w Japonii, był żonaty z Japonką. Jest autorem wielu książek. Najobszerniejszym jego dziełem jest Encyclopaedia of Asian Civilizations w 10 tomach[2].
