Despuèi 2015, Lo Muei es dins lo canton novèu de Vidauban e leis autres doás comunas, aderentas de la CA de Var Esterèu Mediterranèa, son dins lo canton novèu de Ròcabruna d'Argenç. La lenga autoctòna es l'occitan provençau.

Istòria

Lo canton dau Muei se creèt en 1790 dins lo districte de Draguinhan e lo de Ròcabruna dins lo districte de Frejús [1].

En 1801, lo canton dau Muei e lo de Ròcabruna foguèron suprimits a l'avantatge dau canton de Frejús. Un canton dau Muei novèu foguèt creat en 1973 [2],[3].

Eis eleccions departamentalas dau 22 de març de 2015, en aplicacion dau decret n° 2014-270 dau 27 de febrier de 2014, que pòrta delimitacion dei cantons dins lo departament de Var, lo canton dau Muei foguèt suprimit [4].
