Økososialisme

Økososialisme er en alternativ politisk retning som kombinerer sosialisme og økologi. Grunntanken er at økologiske problemer ikke kan løses uten å utfordre kapitalismen som system.[1] I et ideelt økososialistisk system, har produsentene således gjenvunnet kontroll over produksjonsmidlene, og naturens grenser for produksjonsvekst respekteres. Naturen gis en egenverdi og respekt. Retningen hevder at sosialistisk ideologi som ikke respekterer naturen, er verdiløs.[2]

Produksjonsmåtene i et økososialistisk samfunn er utført av frie arbeidsstyrker som legger en økosentrisk bevissthet til grunn. Dette betyr at arbeideren eier sin egen arbeidskraft, og at arbeiderne selv styrer og bestemmer over arbeid og arbeidsplass, på en demokratisk måte. Dette kan gjøres gjennom for eksempel arbeiderstyrte bedrifter, eller kooperativer.[2]

Grønn sosialisme i Norge

Betegnelsen grønn sosialisme var særlig brukt i perioden etter at stortingsrepresentant Bjørn Unneberg (Sp.) i 1971 utgav boken Grønn sosialisme for utkantproletarer. Noen folkelige grunntanker om frihet, likhet og brorskap i vår tid.[3] På denne tiden ble grønn sosialisme ofte brukt synonymt med populisme.

Hartvig Sætra og Ottar Brox var andre kjente talsmenn for denne retningen. SV og venstrefløyen i Senterpartiet har fortsatt noen trekk fra den grønne sosialismen, og SV er medlem av Nordic Green Left Alliance.
