Rapport eller rapportering er en form for hundesport som kan minne om budføring, men den foregår over langt større avstander. Rapport, som også inngår som et hovedelement i bl.a. brukshundsport, bygger på kunnskapen med såkalt kurérhunder under første verdenskrig. Dette er en svært kondisjonskrevende form for hundesport, som krever at hundene har god fysikk og sunn helse for å kunne yte maksimalt.

Rapport som konkurranse og trening

Rapport er i all enkelhet en øvelse der man sender en hund mellom to hundeførere. I konkurranseformen går begge førerne og hunden til et bestemt sted i terrenget (stasjon A), derfra tar så den ene føreren med seg hunden og går videre til neste sted (stasjon B). Hunden sendes så fra stasjon B tilbake til føreren på stasjon A. Når hunden har ankommet stasjon A og har fått litt hvile, sendes den tilbake til føreren på stasjon B.

I brukshundsport vil man etter hvert som en klatrer oppover i klassene forflytte fører på stasjon B videre inn i terrenget, til stasjon C og stasjon D. Hunden sendes tilbake til stasjon A mellom hver forflytning. I klasse A springer hunden totalt 6,1 km (1100 + 1500 + 1500 + 2000 m).

Det har i de senere årene ikke vært avholdt konkurranser i rapport i Norge, men øvelsen er en fin form for kondisjonstrening og kan være svært engasjerende. I Sverige er rapport en relativt stor gren innen bruskhundsporten, og det er fullt mulig for nordmenn å konkurrere der.
