Leopoldo Ndakalako (født 13. desember 1968 i Ohakaonde sør i Portugisisk Angola) er en angolansk geistlig og katolsk biskop av Menongue.

Liv og virke

Bakgrunn

Leopoldo Ndakalako deltok på forberedende kurs (propedeuticum) for prestekandidater i Lubango og studerte deretter filosofi ved seminaret i Huambo (Seminário maior Cristo Rei) fra 1989 til 1993. Han fullførte teologistudiene fra 1994 til 1997 ved Det pavelige universitet Urbaniana i Roma.

Prest

Den 14. desember 1997 ble han presteviet for bispedømmet Ondjiva.[1]

Deretter var han først viserektor for propedeuticum og kapellan ved katedralen i Ondjiva. Fra 1999 til 2003 studerte han igjen ved Urbaniana og tok doktorgrad i filosofi. Deretter fungerte han som rektor for propedeuticum frem til 2016. Fra 2012 til 2017 var han biskoppelig vikar for sjelesorg og siden 2017 generalvikar for bispedømmet Ondjiva.[1]

Biskop av Menongue

Den 19. mars 2019 utnevnte pave Frans ham til biskop av Menongue.[1] Den apostoliske nuntius til Angola, erkebiskop Petar Rajič, ordinerte ham til biskop i Ondjiva den 12. mai samme år. Medkonsekratorer var erkebiskopen av Luanda, Filomeno Vieira Dias, og biskopen av Ondjiva, Pio Hipunyati. Innsettelsen i bispedømmet Menongue fant sted den 26. mai 2019.
