KF2

OK (Original Karts), trolig bedre kjent under det tidligere navnet KF2 (Kart Formula 2) er en klasse i gokart klasse for toppsjåfører fra 14 år og oppover.

Historie

Tidligere[når?] het klassen Intercontinental A (ICA), og man kjørte med vannkjølte totaktsmotorer med 100 cm3 slagvolum.

I januar 2007 byttet klassen navn til KF2 og gikk over til å bruke sterkere 125 cm3 vannkjølte totaktsmotorer av typen Touch-and-Go (TaG), såkalte KF-motorer. KF2-gokartene var utstyrt med elektrisk startmotor og sentrifugalkløtsj. Omdreiningstallet var begrenset til 15 000 r/min. Det ble brukt håndstyrte frontbremser som ble operert via en spak.

KF2 var en av de høyest rangerte klassene i gokart, og det har blitt kjørt både nasjonale og kontinentale mesterskap. De mest prestisjetunge har nok vært europamesterskapet og VM. I 2010 ble KF2-kategorien valgt som klasse for verdensmesterskapet i gokart.[1]

I 2016 ble klassen omdøpt til OK (sammen med KF1) som står for Original Kart. De nye OK-gokartene har fått mye av elektronikken fjernet, og må trillestartes.

Teknisk

Motorene i dagens OK-klasse har en effekt på 25–27 kilowatt. Understellet må være typegodkjent av CIK-FIA. Samlet masse for sjåfør, utstyr og gokart må være minst 160 kg for nasjonale løp og 158 kg for internasjonale løp.
