Glavagruppen er et industriselskap med norsk hovedkontor i Askim. Navnet på firmaet er sammensatt fra ordet glassvatt.

Selskapet har (per 2023) produksjonsanlegg i Askim, Fredrikstad, Trondheim, Ski og Stjørdal.[5] Selskapet har ca. 500 ansatte (per 2023)[5], og hadde i 2007 en omsetning på i underkant av 1,5 milliarder kroner.[6] I 2017 ble det norske aksjeselskapet Glava AS en del av det franske konsernet Saint-Gobain.[5] Per 2023 er omsetningen til Glavagruppen på ca. 2,4 milliarder i året.[5] Selskapet er mest kjent for å produsere isolasjonsmaterialer til lyd- og varmeisolasjon.

Historie

Selskapet ble opprettet i 1935, og drev den gangen med lisensproduksjon av glassvatt, et produkt oppfunnet i Tyskland.[7]

Produktet

Glassull framstiles av et spesielt borsilikatglass som varmes opp til ca. 1 400 °C før massen dras ut til fiber.[8]
