Drakens gränd på Commons

Drakens gränd er et smug i Gamla stan i Stockholm, som går fra Österlånggatan til Skeppsbron. Den har fått sitt navn etter källaren Draken, som en gang lå i smugets øvre hjørne, nåværende Österlånggatan 27. Navnet Drakens gr[änd] er kjent siden 1728.

På 1660-tallet var Draken eid av Melchior Schipman. I 1682 ble den kjøpt av vinskänken Jöran Berg, som fortsatte virksomheten under navnet Förgylda Draken.[1] Stedet ble lagt ned i 1755.

Før Drakens gränd fikk sitt nåværende navn ble den kalt «Bredgränd» respektive «Makelerens gränd» Etter Jacob Mac Leer (Makleer, Machler) som i 1627 kjøpte et hus i smuget.[1]
