Christian Gottlob Barth på Commons

Christian Gottlob Barth, (født i Stuttgart 31. juli 1799, død i Calw 12. november 1862) var en tysk teolog.

Barth var fra 1834 til 1838 pastor i Möttlingen ved Calw i Württemberg, der han ble etterfulgt av Johann Christoph Blumhardt. Med utgangspunkt i den württembergske pietismen ble Barth en av dem som kraftigst arbeidet for den nye religiøse vekkelsen i Tyskland.[trenger referanse] Han var en av foregangsmennene for både indre- og ytremisjon, han grunnla et barnehjem ved Calw og var en produktiv forfatter av oppbyggelig litteratur. Blant hans skrifter finner man Biblische Geschichten (1832, siden utkommet i hundretalls opplag og på mange språk) samt tallrike misjons- og barnesanger. Han grunnla også forlaget Calwer.

I Norsk Salmebok er han representert med tre vers han har skrevet i salmen «Rettferds sol! Med signing blid».
