Wikispesies ialah sebuah projek yang disokong oleh Yayasan Wikimedia dan boleh disunting oleh sesiapa jua. Projek ini merupakan sebuah direktori spesies yang terbuka dan bebas.


Misi

Misi projek ini, yang merangkumi rencana-rencana haiwan, tumbuhan, kulat, bakteria, arkea, protista dan semua bentuk hidupan yang lain, akan dikembangkan bersama-sama dengan projek-projek wiki yang lain, khususnya Wikipedia.

Bahasa lain

Wikispesies boleh didapati dalam 131 bahasa dan juga dilesenkan di bawah Lesen Dokumentasi Bebas GNU

Halaman spesies tipikal

Sebuah halaman spesies tipikal akan mengandungi bahagian taksonavigasi, nama vernakular, klasifikasi alternatif, rujukan, nota, dan mungkin juga pemerian spesies. Nama vernakular merupakan pautan yang mengaitkan rencana-rencana Wikipedia berbilang bahasa.

Templat

Terdapatnya lima templat dalam halaman templat. Templat-templat ini berbeza dengan templat Wikipedia dan tidak dapat dipaparkan dalam Wikipedia. Terdapat juga 11 bahagian tentang templat burung dalam halaman Pengguna:Open2universe.

Portal Masyarakat

Portal Masyarakat Wikispesies mempunyai banyak pautan yang mengaitkan perkara-perkara yang diperlukan oleh seseorang untuk menambahkan pengetahuannya tentang kaedah-kaedah Wikispesies. Bagaimanapun, bentuknya serupa sahaja dengan Portal Masyarakat kita.

Kedai Kopi

Kedai Kopi Wikispesies ialah tempat untuk membincangkan projek Wikispesies. Halaman ini yang terbesar Wikispesies pada waktu ini adalah serupa dengan halaman perbualan rencana dalam Wikipedia.

Permohonan rencana

Bahagian permohonan rencana ialah bahagian yang kita akan melihat untuk rencana-rencana yang dipohon oleh sesetengah pembaca Wikispesies. Salah satu rencana yang dipohon dahulu ialah Crotalus. Rencana itu dicipta pada 1 Januari 2006 oleh pengguna Lycaon.

Piagam Am

Piagam Wikispesies yang ditulis oleh Jimmy Wales merupakan asas Wikispesies. Piagam itu menyatakan:

"Sebagaimana yang anda tahu, penciptaan projek ini telah menimbulkan perbalahan daripada beberapa pihak and oleh itu, saya mencadangkan pengembangan awal untuk sebuah garis panduan polisi yang kukuh dan tidak bercabang di sini, serta menggambarkan bagaimana Wikispesies amat berbeza daripada rencana-rencana ensiklopedia am.
Di sini terdapat beberapa perkara utama yang lembaga telah mengemukakan sewaktu kami meluluskan projek ini:
  • WikiSpesies dibentukkan supaya ahli biologi dapat bermula mengendalikan projek.
  • Kami mencadangkan bahawa oleh sebab perisian telah dibangunkan, [Wikispesies] harus berusaha untuk menyokong perintegrasian dengan Wikipedia supaya penduaan usaha dapat mengelakkan, iaitu untuk mengelakkan percabangan.
  • Kami meminta penyerta-penyerta Wikispesies untuk berfikir tentang bagaimana usaha-usaha mereka dapat dibezakan daripada sebuah ensiklopedia am."
