Mohsen Abdel Hamid (lahir 1937 Arab: محسن عبد الحميد) ialah seorang ahli politik dan sarjana Islam Iraq yang merupakan anggota Majlis Memerintah Iraq, yang diwujudkan berikutan pencerobohan Amerika Syarikat ke atas Iraq pada 2003. Beliau berkhidmat sebagai Presiden Majlis Memerintah Iraq (Perdana Menteri Iraq ke-42) pada Februari 2004.

Biografi

Mohsen dilahirkan pada tahun 1937 di Kirkuk dari keluarga Kurdi.[1] Beliau belajar undang-undang Islam di Kaherah dan kembali ke Iraq pada 1986 untuk berkhidmat sebagai profesor di Universiti Baghdad. Mohsen telah menulis lebih 30 buah buku mengenai tafsir al-Quran. Dia ditangkap pada 1996 oleh kerajaan Saddam Hussein namun menentang pencerobohan Iraq pada 2003.

Sehingga tahun 2004, beliau ialah setiausaha agung Parti Islam Iraq, parti Sunni terbesar di Iraq, dan sebagai hasilnya beliau menganggotai Majlis Memerintah Iraq.

Pada 30 Mei 2005, Mohsen telah tersalah tangkap oleh tentera AS. Beliau dibebaskan pada hari yang sama.[2]
