Kepulauan Sangihe

Kedudukan Kepulauan Sangihe di Sulawesi Utara.

Kepulauan Sangihe (juga "Sangir", "Sanghir" atau "Sangi") ialah sebuah kepulauan di timur laut Sulawesi, Indonesia, yakni di antara Laut Celebes dan Laut Maluku, dengan Sangihe menetapkan sempadan timur Celebes.[1] Secara kasar, kepualauan ini terletak di tengah-tengah di antara Sulawesi dan Mindanao di Filipina. Kepulauan ini berkeluasan 813 kilometer persegi (314 bt2), dengan kebanyakan pulau merupakan aktif sebagai gunung berapi.

Pulau-pulau utama kepulauan ialah, dari utara ke selatan, Sangir Besar, Siau (atau Siao), Tahulandang dan Biaro. Pulau terbesar ialah Sangir Besar dan mengandungi gunung berapi aktif, Gunung Awu (1,320 meter (4,330 ka)). Daripada aspek pentadbiran, dua kabupaten merangkumi kepulauan ini: Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe dan Kabupaten Kepulauan Sitaro. Tahuna ialah bandar utama dan pelabuhan, dan menempatkan lapangan terbang tunggal pulau itu, Lapangan Terbang Naha. Bahasa Sangir ditutur di kepulauan ini; bahasa Austronesia ini turut ditutur di beberapa pulau di Filipina serta utara lampau Sulawesi.[2]
