Šakos

54°24′44″ š. pl. 25°04′50″ r. ilg. / 54.41222°š. pl. 25.08056°r. ilg. / 54.41222; 25.08056 Šakos – pelkė (žemapelkinis raistas) pietryčių Lietuvoje, Varėnos ir Šalčininkų rajonuose, 1 km į pietus nuo Rūdninkų, Rūdninkų girioje. Plotas – 24,73 km². Nutįsusi viršsalpinėje Merkio terasoje iš šiaurės rytų į pietvakarius per 13 km. 1,23 km² sudaro vidaus sausumos. Netoli Šakų šiaurinės ribos teka Merkys, o raiste prasideda jo intakai Špigulė ir Mažasis Pirčiupis.

Šakos yra raistinė žemapelkė. Durpių klodo vidutinis storis 1,3 m (didžiausias – 4,7 m). Durpių ištekliai 19,4 mln. m³. Durpės medieninės, medieninės–nendrinės, nendrinės–viksvinės, jų peleningumas 13,5 %, vidutinis drėgnumas 86 %. Šakų dugną dengia priesmėlis, smėlis, o tarp jo ir durpių slūgso iki 2,7 m sapropelio sluoksnis.

200 ha raisto ploto sukultūrinta. 1957 m. durpėse, 2,5 m gylyje, rastas ankstyvojo neolito kaulinis žeberklas.[1] Didžioji dalis Šakų raisto patenka į Rūdninkų kraštovaizdžio draustinį.
