Valstybinė šventė

Valstybinė šventė, dar vadinama nacionaline švente – teisės aktais įtvirtinta šalies ar tautos šventė, paprastai metų kalendoriuje pažymėta kaip ne darbo diena. Tokios šventės susijusios su valstybei ir visuomenei reikšmingais, istoriniais įvykiais: valstybingumo pradžia, nepriklausomybės paskelbimu ar atgavimu, monarcho gimimu, kitais svarbiais įvykiais ar tradicijomis.[1] Akivaizdus valstybinės šventės šalyje paminėjimo pavyzdys – ant pastatų iškeltos valstybinės vėliavos. Per oficialius renginius šalies vadovai sako sveikinimų kalbas, teikia valstybės apdovanojimus, be to, juos lydi įvairūs visuomeniniai renginiai, šventinė kultūrinė programa. Įprasta, kad valstybinės šventės proga kitų valstybių vadovai šaliai atsiunčia sveikinimus ir linkėjimus,[2][3] glaustai pateikdami ir sveikinančios valstybės požiūrį į dvišalius santykius ir kitais klausimais.

Įvairiose šalyse valstybinės šventės vadinamos skirtingai: Nepriklausomybės (Jungtinių Valstijų nepriklausomybės diena, Lenkijos nepriklausomybės diena), Respublikos (Italijos respublikos diena), Susivienijimo (Vokietijos susivienijimo diena). Daugelis šalių turi ne vieną valstybinę šventę, pavyzdžiui, Malta mini Nepriklausomybės ir Respublikos, Latvija – Valstybės atkūrimo (1918 m.) ir Nepriklausomybės atkūrimo (1990 m.) dienas.

1990–2003 valstybinę šventę Lietuvoje reglamentavo Švenčių dienų įstatymas,[4] nuo 2003 m. – LR darbo kodeksas. Lietuvoje švenčiamos šios valstybinės šventės:[1]
