Laurynas Bortkevičius

Laurynas Bortkevičius (1756 m. rugpjūčio 10 d. Jankaičiuose, Radviliškio raj. – 1823 m. vasario 15 d. Skapiškyje, Kupiškio raj.) – OP, religinių raštų rengėjas.[1]

Biografija

Mokėsi Raseinių ir Kražių mokyklose, spėjama, studijavo Vilniaus akademijoje. Nuo 1790 m. vikaravo ir mokytojavo Seinuose, vėliau Skapiškio dominikonų vienuolyno prioras.[1] Kai kurių šaltinių nuomone, L. Bortkevičius yra Sudervės bažnyčios projekto autorius.[2]

Iš lenkų ir lotynų kalbų išvertė ir paskelbė Kristaus kelio į Golgotą giesmių ir maldų („Giesmės apie keturiolika stacijų“, 1810 m.; „Karavakas, arba Kryžius anioliškas“, ~1817 m.; „Kelias kryžiaus, arba Kalvarija“, 1819 m.).[1]
