Antanas Račis (1936 m. kovo 25 d. Stebeikiuose, Pumpėnų valsčiuje – 2021 m. liepos 17 d. Vilniuje[1][2]) – enciklopedininkas, 2001–2015 metais leistos Visuotinės lietuvių enciklopedijos vyriausiasis redaktorius.[3]

Biografija

Antanas Račis gimė 1936 metų kovo 25 dieną Stebeikių kaime. 1944 m. pradėjo mokytis Rinkūnų pradinėje mokykloje, 1947 m. – Pumpėnų septynmetėje mokykloje 1950 m. – Pasvalio vidurinėje mokykloje. 1954 m. įstojo į Vilniaus universitetą, studijavo Istorijos filologijos fakultete. 1959 m. įsigijo filologijos ir lietuvių kalbos bei literatūros vidurinės mokyklos mokytojo kvalifikaciją.

Kurį laiką dirbo lietuvių kalbos mokytoju Vilniaus rajono Skurbutėnų ir Kenos aštuonmetėse mokyklose. Vėliau dirbo enciklopedijų leidykloje. Dirbo mokslinių ir vyresniuoju moksliniu redaktoriumi, kelių redakcijų vedėju. Ėmėsi vadovauti visiems Mokslo ir enciklopedijų leidybos instituto redakciniams darbams. 2001 m. tapo Visuotinės lietuvių enciklopedijos vyriausiuoju redaktoriumi. 2002–2012 m. ėjo Valstybinės lietuvių kalbos komisijos nario pareigas.[2]
