다지류(多肢類, Myriapoda) 또는 다족류(多足類)는 노래기와 지네 등을 포함하고 있는 다지아문(多肢亞門)에 속하는 절지동물의 총칭이다. 약 13,000여 종이 있다.[2].

절지동물 진화의 다계통설에 의하면 유조동물과 촉각류는 모두 큰턱의 부속지 전체가 변형된 단지형으로 되어 있으므로 이들을 단지류로 분류한다. 촉각류는 다지류와 육각류를 포함한다. 다지류는 배각강, 순각강, 결합강, 소각강으로 나뉘며 육각류는 곤충강이 있다.

진화

다지류의 육상진출은 화석기록으로 볼 때 매우 중요한데, 다지류의 발자국 화석은 오르도비스기 후기의 것이 최초이며 실루리아기에는 Pneumodesmus와 같은 배각강의 육상 다지류가 출현하여 산소호흡을 하였고 육지 생태계 순환에 기여하였기 때문이다.[3] 석탄기에는 가장 거대했던 육상 절지동물이었던 아르트로플레우라가 출현하였으며, 다지류는 분화되어 결합강, 순각강 등으로 진화하였다.
