ვასილ ნიკოლოზის ძე ჩერქეზიშვილი (დ. 1858, სოფ. ჩაილური, სიღნაღის მაზრა — გ. 14 ივლისი, 1910, თბილისი) — ქალაქ ტფილისის ქალაქისთავი.

ბიოგრაფია

დაამთავრა თბილისის რეალური სასწავლებელი და შევიდა სამთო ინსტიტუტში, მაგრამ კურსი ვერ დაასრულა, დაბრუნდა სამშობლოში. ერთხანს მუშაობდა საადგილმამულო ბანკში, შემდეგ დეპუტატთა, საკრებულოს მდივანი იყო. 80-იან წლებიდან თანამშრომლობდა გაზეთ „კავკაზში“.

1898 წელს ვასილ ჩერქეზიშვილი აირჩიეს თბილისის ქალაქის მმართველობის წევრად, შემდეგ ქალაქისთავის მოადგილედ, ხოლო 1907 წელს ქალაქისთავად.

მეოცე საუკუნის დამდეგი აღინიშნა რთული კოლიზიებით: რევოლუციური ტალღის აბობოქრება კავკასიაში და, კერძოდ თბილისში, დაერთო სომეხ-თათართა შეტაკებები. ამ რთულ ვითარებაში მოუწია ჩერქეზიშვილს მოღვაწეობა, მაგრამ მან თავიდან ააცილა ქალაქს სისხლისღვრა. ამასთანავე ისიც უნდა ღინიშნოს, რომ მისი მოღვაწეობის პერიოდში ქალაქი მნიშვნელოვნად გაიზარდა, შეემატა ახალი რაიონები, აშენდა საცხოვრებელი სახლები, მოიკირწყლა ქუჩები, გაიხსნა კულტურულ-საგანმანათლებლო დაწესებულებები, აფთიაქები, საავადმყოფოები და სხვა.

დაკრძალულია მწერალთა და საზოგადო მოღვაწეთა დიდუბის პანთეონში.
