ბერნარდინ ევარისტო (ინგლ. ბიოგრაფია

ევარისტო ლონდონში, ელთამის რაიონში, დაიბადა, ხოლო გაიზარდა ვულვიჩის რაიონში. იგი ოჯახში რვიდან მეოთხე შვილი იყო. მას თეთრკანიანი დედა ჰყავდა, რომელიც სკოლის მასწავლებელი იყო. მისი მამა, იულიუს ევარისტო, ნიგერიელი იყო. იგი ნიგერიაში გაიზარდა და ბრიტანეთში 1949 წელს ემიგრიდა, სადაც მშრომელთა პარტიიდან გრინვიჩის ოლქის საბჭოს პირველი შავკანიანი წევრი გახდა.[10]

მწერლის 2019 წლის რომანი „გოგონა, ქალი და სხვა დანარჩენი“ სხვადასხვა კულტურული ფონის, სოციალური ფენის, სექსუალობისა და წარმოშობის 19-დან 93 წლამდე ასაკის 12 შავკანიანი ბრიტანელი ქალის შესახებ მოგვითხრობს. რომანი პერსონაჟების იმედებს, პრობლემებსა და მათი ცხოვრებების გადაკვეთას ასახავს. 2019 წლის ივლისში „გოგონა, ქალი და სხვა დანარჩენი“ ბუკერის პრემიის ნომინანტთა გრძელ სიაში,[22] ხოლო სექტემბერში ფინალისტთა სიაში დასახელდა[23] და ნოემბრის თვეში მარგარეტ ეტვუდის რომანთან „აღთქმები“ ერთად ბუკერის პრემია მოიპოვა,[24] რითაც ევარისტო პრემიის ლაურეატი პირველი შავკანიანი ქალი ავტორი გახდა.[24] რომანი აგრეთვე წარდგენილი იყო ქალთა პრემიაზე პროზისთვის.[25]

სამწერლო მოღვაწეობისთვის ევარისტო ყოველწლიური სიის Powerlist 2021 წლის გამოცემაში, როგორც აფრო-ამერიკული წარმოშობის ერთ-ერთი ყველაზე გავლენიანი ბრიტანელი, მოხვდა.[26]
