ალან ჯეი პერლისი (ინგლ. Alan Jay Perlis; დ. 1 აპრილი, 1922, პიტსბურგი, პენსილვანია, აშშ — გ. 7 თებერვალი, 1990, ნიუ-ჰეივენი) — ამერიკელი მეცნიერი კომპიუტერულ ტექნოლოგიებში. ცნობილი თავისი ნამუშევრებით პროგრამირების ენებში და როგორც ტიურინგის პრემიის პირველი ლაურეატი (1966).[1]

ბიოგრაფია

ალან პერლისი პიტსბურგში, ებრაულ ოჯახში დაიბადა. 1939 წელს დაამთავრა სკოლა. 1943 წელს მიიღო ბაკალავრის ხარისხი ქიმიაში კარნეგის ტექნოლოგიურ ინსტიტუტში (მოგვიანებით მას ეწოდა კარნეგი-მელონის უნივერსიტეტი).

მეორე მსოფლიო ომის დროს მსახურობდა აშშ-ს არმიაში, სადაც მათემატიკით დაინტერესდა. შემდეგში მან მიიღო მაგისტრის (1949) და ფილოსოფიის დოქტორის (1950) ხარისხი მათემატიკაში მასაჩუსეტსის ტექნოლოგიურ ინსტიტუტში. მისი სადოქტორო დისერტაციის თემა იყო: „ინტეგრალური განტოლებები, მათი ამოხსნა იტერაციით და ანალიტიკური გაგრძელებით“ (ინგლ. „On Integral Equations, Their Solution by Iteration and Analytic Continuation“).

1952 წელს მან მონაწილეობა მიიღო ინსტიტუტის პროექტში „Whirlwind“ (1-ლი თაობის კომპიუტერი). დაიწყო მუშაობა პერდიუს უნივერსიტეტში და 1956 წელს გადავიდა კარნეგის ტექნოლოგიურ ინსტიტუტში. იყო მათემატიკის კათედრის ხელმძღვანელი, შემდეგ ინფორმატიკის კათედრის პირველი ხელმძღვანელი. 1962 წელს აირჩიეს გამოთვლითი ტექნიკის ასოციაციის პრეზიდენტად.

1966 წელს პერლისი გახდა ტიურინგის პრემიის პირველი მფლობელი „პროგრამირებაში მოწინავე მეთოდებისა და კომპილატორის აგების სფეროში მისი გავლენისათვის“. ეს ეხებოდა 1956 წელს Internal Translator-ზე (დონალდ კნუთის აღწერით, პირველი წარმატებული კომპილატორი) და პროგრამირების ენა ALGOL-ის შემმუშავებელთა ჯგუფში მის მუშაობას.

1971 წელს ალან პერლისი გადავიდა იელის უნივერსიტეტში ინფორმატიკის კათედრაზე. 1977 წელს ის აირჩიეს ეროვნული საინჟინრო აკადემიის წევრად.

1982 წელს პერლისმა დაწერა სტატია „ეპიგრამები პროგრამირებაზე“ ჟურნალისთვის Association for Computing Machinery's (ACM) SIGPLAN, სადაც ცალკეულ წინადადებებში გადმოსცა ბევრი მნიშვნელოვანი ინფორმაცია, რაც მოიპოვა თავისი კარიერის მანძილზე პროგრამირებაში.[2] ეპიგრამებს ფართე მასშტაბებით ციტირებენ.
