ავსტრონეზიული ენები — ენათა ოჯახი რომელიც მოიცავს სამხრეთ აზიასა, წყნარ ოკეანეში გაფანტულ კუნძულებსა და ასევე მცირე რაოდენობით კონტინენტურ აზიაში არსებულ ენებს. ამ ჯგუფის ენებზე საუბრობს დაახლოებით 386 მილიონი ადამიანი. ინდოევროპულ, ნიგერო-კონგოლეზიურ, აფრაზიულ და ურალურ ენათა ჯგუფებთან ერთად ისაა კარგად დამკვიდრებული ანტიკური ენათ ოჯახი. გერმანელი ოტო დემპვოლფი იყო პირველი სწავლული ვინც ავსტრონეზიული შედარების მეთოდით გამოიკვლია. მეორე გერმანელმა მეცნიერმა ვილჰელმ შმიდტმა ლათინური auster (სამხრეთის ქარი) და ბერძნული nêsos (კუნძული) სიტყვებისგან შექმნა ახალი გერმანული სიტყვა austronesisch[2] საიდანაც მოდის მისი ქართული დასახელებაც - ავსტრონეზიული.
