აზერბაიჯანელები — ხალხი, აზერბაიჯანის ძირითადი მოსახლეობა (8,1 მლნ). ცხოვრობენ აგრეთვე ირანში (12-18.5 მლნ), რუსეთის ფედერაციაში (2 მლნ.), საქართველოში (284 ათ.), ყაზახეთში (90 ათ.), სომხეთსა და სხვა ქვეყნებში. იყოფიან ეთნიკურ ჯგუფებად: აირუმები, აფშარები, ბაიათები, ყარადაღელები, ყარაფაფახები, შახსევენები. მიეკუთვნებიან ევროპეიდული რასის სამხრეთ შტოს.
