第61回都市対抗野球大会

第61回都市対抗野球大会（だい61かいとしたいこうやきゅうたいかい）は、1990年7月20日から7月30日まで東京ドームで開催された都市対抗野球大会である。

概要

  • 初出場チームは大津町・本田技研熊本のみ。東京都・JR東日本は国鉄民営化後では初めて本大会に出場した。また、倉敷市・三菱自動車水島は22年ぶりに本大会の出場を決めた。
  • 浜松市・ヤマハは連続出場を10年の大台に乗せた。
  • ずば抜けたチームがないとの前評判どおり、力が拮抗した好ゲームが連続した。1回戦では、逆転サヨナラホームランが2試合で飛び出した（横浜市・日本石油－日立市・日立製作所戦、大阪市・日本生命－仙台市・NTT東北戦）。
  • その中で勝ち上がっていったのは3年前のチャンピオンである浜松市・ヤマハ。エースの吉田篤史投手が大車輪の活躍を見せ、準々決勝の対JR東日本戦では8回途中までノーヒットピッチングを披露し、1安打完封。大会を通じ3勝を挙げ、橋戸賞に輝いた。また、ヤマハ・川島勝司監督は1970年代・1980年代・1990年代でそれぞれ優勝監督となる偉業を達成した。
