ジュニア8冠王座

ジュニア8冠王座（ジュニアはちかんおうざ）は、かつて存在したプロレスの王座。厳密には王座の名称ではなくジュニアヘビー級以下の王座を同時戴冠した状態のことである。

歴史

1996年6月17日、日本武道館でIWGPジュニアヘビー級王座、インターナショナルジュニアヘビー級王座、NWA世界ジュニアヘビー級王座、NWA世界ウェルター級王座、WWFライトヘビー級王座、UWA世界ジュニアライトヘビー級王座、WWA世界ジュニアライトヘビー級王座、英連邦ジュニアヘビー級王座による8大タイトルマッチ「THE SKY DIVING-J」を開催。全試合終了後、記念撮影で主催者の獣神サンダー・ライガーが8つの王座統一戦を提案して各選手と各プロレス団体が賛同。8月5日、新日本プロレス両国国技館大会で互いの王座を賭けてタイトルマッチが行われるトーナメント戦「J-CROWN」が開催されて優勝したザ・グレート・サスケが初代王者になった[1]。

1997年6月6日、WAR後楽園ホール大会で安良岡裕二がジュニア8冠王座の1つであるインターナショナルジュニアヘビー級王座のみに挑戦して勝利したことでジュニア7冠王座になった。8月、WWFからWWFライトヘビー級王座に関して「この王座はビンス・マクマホン・シニア時代に作られたものであり、現在のWWFでは、この王座は認めていない」とクレームを受けた。11月5日、王者の大谷晋二郎が返上により、ジュニア7冠王座は解体されてチャンピオンベルトは各プロレス団体に返還された。
