メディアによっては「ナイズナー」と表記されることもある。

経歴

2016年のMLBドラフト7巡目（全体226位）でセントルイス・カージナルスから指名され、プロ入り。契約後、傘下のアパラチアンリーグのルーキー級ジョンソンシティ・カージナルス（英語版）でプロデビュー。53試合に出場して打率.319、6本塁打、42打点を記録した。

2017年はA級ピオリア・チーフスとAA級スプリングフィールド・カージナルスでプレーし、2球団合計で95試合に出場して打率.302、12本塁打、51打点、2盗塁を記録した。オフにはアリゾナ・フォールリーグに参加し、サプライズ・サグアロス（英語版）に所属した。

2018年はAA級スプリングフィールドとAAA級メンフィス・レッドバーズでプレーし、2球団合計で94試合に出場して打率.313、7本塁打、45打点を記録した。

2019年は開幕をAAA級メンフィスで迎えた。5月31日にメジャー契約を結んでアクティブ・ロースター入りした[1]。6月2日のシカゴ・カブス戦にて「8番・捕手」で先発出場してメジャーデビュー（この試合は3打数無安打）[2]。

2022年は長年カージナルスで正捕手を務めていたヤディアー・モリーナが同年限りで引退することもあって、翌年以降を見据えて出場機会を増やした。しかし、オフにライバルのカブス（英語版）からウィルソン・コントレラスが移籍。

2023年はコントレラスの入団もあり、出場機会が激減。オフの11月17日にノンテンダーFAとなった[3]。

プレースタイル

捕手転向は大学1年からと日は浅いが送球とブロッキングは上質であり、次代の正捕手として期待されている[4]。
