地名の由来

伊文神社に近く、伊文天王領でもあったことによる^[1]。

沿革

1953年（昭和28年） - 西尾町鶴城の一部により、同町宮町が成立^[1]。同年12月には市制施行により、西尾市宮町となる^[1]。
1967年（昭和42年） - 桜町の一部を編入する^[1]。
